Just days after releasing new music and preparing for upcoming performances, Lil Poppa

appeared poised to enter a defining chapter of his career. Fans were streaming his latest tracks,

news that the Jacksonville-born artist had passed away at just 25 years old.

His sudden death has left supporters and fellow artists grappling

with the loss of a young performer whose creative journey seemed to be gaining powerful momentum.

Born Janarious Mykel Wheeler, Lil Poppa built a reputation for emotional honesty

and reflective storytelling. Signed to Collective Music Group, founded by Yo Gotti,

he steadily expanded his audience through songs such as “Love & War,” “Mind Over Matter,” and “HAPPY TEARS.”

In August 2025, he released Almost Normal Again, a project that further

showcased his growth and lyrical depth. Just days before his passing,

he debuted a new single, signaling continued dedication to his craft.

Authorities confirmed he was pronounced deceased on February 18, 2026, though an official cause of death has not been publicly released.

In the hours following the announcement, Lil Poppa’s mother shared heartfelt

messages expressing grief and faith, touching many who had followed his journey.
