Born Janarious Mykel Wheeler, Lil Poppa built a reputation for emotional honesty

In August 2025, he released Almost Normal Again, a project that further

showcased his growth and lyrical depth. Just days before his passing,

he debuted a new single, signaling continued dedication to his craft.

Authorities confirmed he was pronounced deceased on February 18, 2026, though an official cause of death has not been publicly released.

In the hours following the announcement, Lil Poppa’s mother shared heartfelt
