Hollywood Mourns the Loss of Beloved Actress at 65

Actress Jennifer Runyon, known for her roles in the film Ghostbusters and the television sitcom Charles in Charge, has died at the age of 65. Her family confirmed that the actress passed away on March 6 after battling cancer for several months. According to reports, Runyon had been fighting the illness for about six months before her passing. She died peacefully while surrounded by her family. In a message shared on social media and reported by ABC7 Los Angeles, her family expressed gratitude for the love and time they shared with her.

“This past Friday night our beloved Jennifer passed away. It was a long and difficult journey that ended with her surrounded by her family. We are grateful for the time we had with her and for the love and support she shared with so many people throughout her life,” the statement said. Born on April 1, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, Runyon became a familiar face in film and television during the 1980s.

Many fans remember her from the opening scene of Ghostbusters, the popular supernatural comedy that became one of the decade’s most iconic movies. She also gained recognition for her role as Gwendolyn Pierce on the sitcom Charles in Charge, which followed the story of a college student working as a live-in babysitter for a family.

During her career, Runyon also appeared in several well-known television shows, including Quantum Leap, Murder, She Wrote, and Magnum, P.I. She is survived by her husband, Todd Corman, and their two children, Wyatt and Bayley. Fans and colleagues continue to remember her for both her on-screen work and her kindness off screen.
